Buli is named following the buri palm. Alabang is named after the river that passes throughout the barangay. Ayala Alabang was created by Batas Pambansa Bilang 219 away from Barangay Alabang. Sucat bought its name in the vernacular phrase "sukat", meaning "measurement" as it was calculated during the Spanish period.: from just one place to another
